What insurance does a youth sports league need?

Youth sports leagues need General Liability, Participant Accident Medical, and Abuse & Molestation coverage at minimum. Many also add D&O insurance for board members and property coverage for equipment. If you have paid coaches or staff, Workers' Compensation is required.

Does participant accident insurance replace health insurance?

No. Participant accident coverage is supplemental — it pays covered medical expenses up to the policy limits when a player is injured during a covered activity. It's designed to fill gaps where a participant's own health insurance may not cover sports injuries.

Are volunteer coaches covered under GL?

Yes, volunteer coaches acting within the scope of their duties are typically covered under the league's General Liability policy. However, some organizations also add Abuse & Molestation coverage, which is critical for any program involving minors.

Can I insure a single tournament or camp?

Absolutely. We offer single-event policies for tournaments, camps, clinics, and special events. These are often more affordable than year-round policies if your organization only hosts occasional events.

Do I need liability waivers in addition to insurance?
